Because of our reduced work weeks, I got yesterday off work. So with this extra day free to myself I decided to embark on a miniature road trip... and drag my father and brother along with me. My goals of this mini trip? Photography, shopping and good eats. And where else close to home to do that other than Frankenmuth, Michigan.
I've decided to superimpose my Seven 2 Four Friday's and use it to describe my Thursday fun. So here we go...
If you know me (or my father) at all, we are morning people. So we were in the car and on the road by 9:30a. Being that Frankenmuth is only about 1.5 hours away, this was a very short trip.
First stop of the day? Tony's Restaurant. If you ever come to visit Michigan, this tourist attraction is one worth stopping (if nothing more than laughs). No their food isn't special. But their display, and portion size, of food in hilarious! Check out my eggs, hashbrowns and bacon breakfast:
Huge, right? Yea, I couldn't even eat half of it! But that is what this place is known for... huge portions of food (anything with bacon you get a pound of it, not kidding, their BLT has been featured on the Food Network as well as Travel Channel). Check out my father's omelet, so crazy big!
So after our brunch we did some shopping at the outlets right in a city next to Frankenmuth, called Birch Run. They have awesome shopping and I always find some of the best deals. Yesterday was not an exception. Lots of money later, we had a full truck with some great finds.
I got a ton of new shirts and shorts and even a cute jacket. I'm so excited about all my new clothes. It has been awhile since I've been shopping so I cashed out. But I think it was good because I needed new clothes that fit (all my other stuff is a little big now, which is a good thing!).
Oh I also got these two super cute purses for the summer time. Oh how I adore my accessories (and shoes, which speaking of...)
I got some great deals on shoes. You can check out this super cute pair of Stella McCartney shoes I got via my TwitPic page. I also got these adorable heals for $10! And even though their 3 inch heals will make me tower over most of my friends, they were too pretty to pass up.
And this pair of pink heals (to go with this super sexy brown dress I have) for $15. What a steal, right?
And I couldn't leave without getting a new pair of tennis shoes, with the Nike, Adidas and Reebok outlets there I was bound to find one I like.
More to share later with lots of fun photos from the rest of our day at Frankenmuth.
