Flipping Pages

I'm a reader.

Yes, like a hardcore, loves book stores and libraries type of reader. I enjoy diving into a new book and exploring all the adventures that are within. I especially love the smell of a new book (which might be why that although I desire a Kindle, I just can't get the thought of not holding an actual book in my mind).

For the most part I don't let reading take over my life. I enjoy it in my spare time, but always am busy and don't mind spending a month, or more, to read a small novel.

However, there are those books that I can't set down, the ones that become more than just my spare time reading, the ones that I actually plan out time to read. I bring them with me everywhere (yes, everywhere; it's why I carry a big purse!) and read every free moment I have. Be that on lunch breaks at work, waiting for a friend, between work-out classes at the gym, wherever; I literally have my face shoved in the book.

It all began back when I was a high school senior, with the Gossip Girls series (yes, I liked Gossip Girl well before it was a show!). The day a new book would come out I purchase it and have it read before the weekends end. I loved them. When the new books came out, one of my best friends and I would actually spend Friday nights hanging out together reading. Gosh, the crazy lives we lived.

Another more recent series that I couldn't get enough of is the Twilight books. I actually read all four books, well over a thousand pages, in less than a month. It was truly an amazing reading. If you haven't already, go read them. You will not regret it.

Then this beautiful book touched me so kindly that I couldn't stop. I actually went out and bought the book for a few of my family members after reading it because it was so awesome. It's a quick read so it is awesome for long car drives and/or a short day trip to the beach.

Still one of my favorite books of all time. I bought this years ago, but I remember loving every juicy, raunchy minute of it. Oh this sure is a page turner if there every was one. And it's a laugh out loud type of book so make sure to read when you don't mind cracking up here and there.

Oh this book. It's beautiful and wonderful and just makes you think all these wonderful things. I read this book cover to cover in a little over three days. I just couldn't get enough of it. This is one of those books that I want to read again, and I don't do that ever.

So I didn't think I'd like this book because of my beliefs but I actually found it quite intriguing. No matter what you believe, I believe this is a great book and sure was a suspenseful read. Might have been the first mystery-type book I've ever read so it was very interesting how the author can leave you on your toes wanting to not stop.

And my new obsession? The Time Travelers Wife. I bought this book on a whim because everyone was telling me how awesome it was (yes, I mean all you fabulous blog friends!). And boy am I happy I did (thanks!) I read over 200 pages on the first day I opened it. It's so fascinating and wonderful. I catch myself smiling at particular parts and reading other sections over and over again just to pull more out of the passage. It's an irresistible read if I ever did fine one.

Well that enough with the internet for now. I'm going to go sit outside on my patio, curl with my blanket and read more of my book.

Life is good. <3
